As always, our girls have been busy and we are looking forward to a fun and exciting new Girl Scout year. Fall Camporee is just around the corner. We also hope to see everyone for our inaugural Bridging and Investiture ceremony on October 1.
Cadettes interested in our Breathe! Journey Weekend need to register before September 22.
Several troops are interested in planning a journey day/weekend for Seniors. Contact us if you’d like to participate.
If your troop is planning an event and wants to invite other troops, please contact us to find out how to include your event on our calendar and in our emails. Several area leaders want to start planning regular hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities and would love your input!
Travel Bug
At Summer Camp our Juniors earned their Geochaching badges. So we sent a Travel Bug out into the world to see how far it can travel. Already our bug is on the move and we are excited to see where it lands.
Pets Come First
Girl Scout Junior [troop num=40411/] grew, dried, and milled their own catnip so they could make catnip socks for Pets Come First.
Total Eclipse of the Sun
Our scouts were also given an unique opportunity to witness a solar eclipse and earn a patch by learning about the eclipse. We are already excited about April 8th, 2024 and are hoping to plan a camping trip, so mark your calendars!
Troop [troop]41124[/troop]/[troop]41125[/troop] is collecting used solar eclipse glasses to donate to Astronomers Without Borders. The glasses will be sent to schools in South America and Asia to allow students there to safely witness eclipses in 2019.
Scout Days
Scouts from State College also participated in scout days at Lake Tobias Wildlife Park and the Spikes.
If your troop has something they want to share, email a photo and brief description to thismonth@statecollegegirlscouts.org.
