Friends of Golden Pond has several exciting events planned this summer. Note – all events require advance registration. See event details for pricing and deadlines.
June 8th: Blue Bird Box Building. DCNR will run a youth targeted program about the importance of our migratory birds and what we can do to help them. Participants will then build a blue bird box that they can take home to encourage their own blue bird population.
June 9th: Bee Workshop. Dee Bagshaw of Centre County Beekeepers Association will run a program to teach us about the amazing honey bee. Participants will then make a mason bee home that they can take home to encourage their own bee population.
June 15th: Paint Workshop with Bluebird Designs (no experience necessary – all supplies provided). Local artist Rebecca Reck will work with you to create a beautiful campfire painting.
June 28th-30th: Wilderness First Aid with Joan
August 24th: Recycled Regatta. Participating teams will build boats out of recycled materials, bring them to camp, and race them across the Lake. After the race, there will be a BBQ and award ceremony. Boat crew registration is open to anyone aged 8 or up.
