Hello Girl Scout Families,
I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer. While school is out many scouts are still pursuing badges and activities. Troops are traveling, camping, and exploring during these warmer months. Leaders are planning their next scouting year. If your daughter (or your troop) is participating in a Scouting related activity we’d love a picture to show how active our girls are.
One great scouting activity that is coming up this week with the Fourth Fest Parade of Heroes. Any scout can participate. Come join us in the parade wearing your red, white, blue, and your vest/sash. It has become a fun favorite tradition for many of the girls. Parents are welcome to walk in the parade behind the truck.
Another favorite tradition is the Scout Night at the State College Spikes on August 9. Every year families come watch the game, then stay the night to watch a movie, and sleep on the field.
For girls entering grade 6 and up Stream Girls at Black Moshannon (in partnership with Trout Unlimited) still has space for the weekend of August 16. No experience is necessary but a strong interest in watershed conservation, outdoors, and scientific inquiry is encouraged.
Check out our Summer Outdoor Challenge for ideas of activities your daughter can complete on those long summer days.
In other news we are starting to plan our Fall calendar. We need your help to make next year a success. We are looking for a person (or persons) to run Fall Product for the Service Unit. It is a great way to help out the Service Unit and support our Troop Leaders. Let us know if you are interested.
If you have an event to put on next year’s scout calendar or you are interested in joining the Camp Committee please Contact Us.
