We have several exciting events planned out at the camp this fall:
If your troop is looking for a fall or winter camping trip, put your reservation request in as weekends are filling up.
On Sep 7th, Game Warden Amy Nabozny will be coming to Camp Golden Pond to teach us about bears. The original date for this event was Sep 28th; however, it has been moved up in order to not conflict with Pennsylvania’s new bear muzzle loader season. For more details or to register, click here.
On Sep 29th, Mary Walsh (Troop Leader for 40065) will be at Camp Golden Pond to teach us about the creatures that live in and around our lakes and streams. Professional biologists will give demonstrations and have hands on activities about bat echolocation, macroinvertebrates, freshwater mussels, and bog turtles. Finally, the girls who attended the “Out of this World” day camp this past summer had so much fun, we decided to offer a Fall Fun Girl Scout Day Camp on our October in-service days. This drop-off event will take place at the camp on Oct 17 and 18 and is a collaboration between Friends of Golden Pond, Service Unit 416, and Service Unit 431. Service Unit 431 is organizing the adult volunteers for this camp so that troop leaders and parents are not required to attend with their girls.
