Spring 2020
Registration for Spring Camp 2020 is open! For $5 per person, troops are invited to join us at Camp Golden Pond for our annual “do your own thing” Service Unit camporee!
Spring Camporee is an unstructured event where troops are invited to camp to just hang out, work on a badge, and generally do their own thing. No programming other than scheduling limited resources is provided. Weather and facilitator availability permitting, troops will be able to sign up for archery, canoeing, and fishing time slots. We may even have a visit from the STEM mobile!
Troops are expected to be fully autonomous at this camp – including adult/girl ratios, first aiders, meals, and programming. Be sure to get your troop registered before rates increase on April 3rd!
Summer 2020 – STREAM Girls
State College Girl Scouts is partnering with Trout Unlimited to bring the STREAM Girls program to Camp Golden Pond. At this family camp, we will explore our watershed as scientists, anglers, and artists – allowing us to get the complete picture of what our waters mean to us and how we can help protect them.
Over the course of the weekend we will study the animal and plant life that inhabits our camp waters. We will also learn the art of fly tying and be able to explore both bait and fly fishing.
Girls can participate as either a family unit complete with siblings or as a troop following adult/girl ratios.
Registration is currently open for families and troops from Service Unit 416 and 422.
