The sunflowers in Tudek Park are continuing to grow, but we still need your help to make our Sunflower House a reality! In addition to helping with watering, we would also like to add a border of painted rocks. Troops (or individual families) are invited to paint rocks and leave them around the edge of the plot. We encourage groups to use these (or similar) rocks in order to provide uniformity. Rocks should be clear coated in order to protect against the elements.
If you are helping with watering, please keep the following points in mind:
- MORE seeds have recently been planted in front of the sunflower house. Please don’t walk in the Girl Scout plot to avoid stepping on the growing flowers.
- The hose is not always connected to the hydrant, but is never too far away. You simply need to attach the hose to the hydrant and turn the water on.
- When you are done watering the Girl Scout plot, please turn the water off and coil the hose neatly by the hydrant.
Across town in Nittany View Park, the Daisies of Troop 40170 completed their Flower Garden Journey by planting a patch of milkweed. Harris Township is a pollinator partner and is looking forward to more monarch butterflies.
