Daisies are invited to join us at the Snetsinger Butterfly Garden to embark on the Flower Garden Journey. Daisies will learn about the mission of the garden and why pollinators are important, pot a plant to take home, explore the Wings in the Park Festival and learn from the master gardeners, and then complete a project to help the garden out.
Please note that while the activities will include participating in the festival, our journey will include additional activities tailored to ensure the girls meet their journey requirements. The Wings in the Park festival is open to the public; however, Daisies seeking to participate in the journey program must register for the program in advance.
Girls should bring a bagged lunch and a water bottle and dress as their favorite pollinator.
Daisies who register for the event before noon on July 14th will receive the Flower Garden Journey badge set. Daisies who register later will need to purchase the badge set on their own. The cost for this event is $4 per Daisy + $6 for the badge set.
Older scouts interested in pursuing mentoring awards are welcome to help guide our Daisies on their journey.
All scouts must be accompanied by either a parent or a troop chaperone. If you will be unable to remain with your Daisy for the entire event, please contact Troop 40170 to find out if we can assign your scout to a troop for the day. GSHPA mandated ratios for Daisy outings are 2 adults for the first 6 Daisies and 1 adult for every additional 4 Daisies.
State College Girl Scouts maintains a plot in the Snetsinger Butterfly Garden. If you are interested in helping out at the garden, please contact the GSHPA SU 416 garden team.
